Everything's Changed
So either by choice or default…here you are. The life you knew is over and now you are ready to find a way to move forward and sort through all the chaos and change that seperation and divorce bring. You may be asking yourself,"Where do I go from here?"
The Road is Rough
My name is Karen Basmagy and I have been where you are right now. After my 25 year marriage was over I was flooded with overwhelming feelings of sadness, isolation, guilt, anger and anxiety about the uncertainty of my future. Paradoxically, there were also some very positive feelings of immense relief that a decision had finally been made, along with great hope that I could create a joyful future born of authenticity, as well as intuitive optimism that I would now have the chance to find the love I knew was out there waiting for me.

The road's not easy…it can sometimes feel like there is no one else on this path with you. Family and friends can be supportive, but sometimes that support can keep you where you are and not move you forward through the process. Friends you once shared with your spouse may have chosen a side, or avoided contact because they don't know how to help or what to say, leaving you feeling isolated. If you made the choice to end the relationship the people in your life may not understand or be happy with your decision. During my eighteen month separation it felt like I had jumped into an deep, dark abyss that I had to pull myself out of, and at times I seriously doubted my ability to do so.
Your Future:
- Creating the life you want: Endless Possibilities
- Clarity: Who am I now…really?
- A New "definition" of Family: Strengthening the bond
- Love after Love: Getting back out in the dating world
The Power of Coaching
One of the greatest gifts I gave to myself during this challenging time was to partner with a coach. Coaching helped me find the areas of my life where I actually had some control and allowed me to find the clarity to choose who I wanted to be during the divorce and how I was going to stay true to that intention. I had a choice in how I wanted to go forward and coaching gave me insight about what my options were. There are so many components to moving through a divorce it can be difficult to define our priorities and develop an action plan for our future.
